Many older style Yale locks can sometimes
be bypassed using a credit card, a new yale lock with a dead
lock facility can be fitted to stop this happening. It can
be done relatively cheaply and with the minimum amount of fuss.
Many people leave there keys in the back of
the door in case of emergencies at night, criminals using the
term “fishing”, hook wire through your letter box to hook your
keys out and gain access. Keys should be removed at night,
however if you still prefer to leave your keys in should an
emergency arise, anti – fishing letter boxes can be fitted
to ensure the security of your property.
A Sash lock is a device that flicks across
your UPVC door to add extra security, it acts a bit like bolts
do on a wooden door. These can be fitted cheaply and can be
matched to the colour of your door. This will prevent anyone
gaining entry even it they have a key.
Alarm systems can at times seem expensive,
so a possible alternative is to fit a dummy box. This is no
substitute for a real alarm system, but opportunistic thieves
may think twice about breaking into your property if they think
an alarm may be triggered. |
